have given Karen the ability to see things for what they are. She knows
life isn’t always fair, so she plugs along with a quiet bliss that
is unique to her. Having served this past year as the chairman of the reservation
committee, Karen is dedicated to providing a lovely experience each and
every time our members come together. She is eager to aide in creating an
organization that perpetuates the professional presentations that our members
have grown to expect. She began her real estate career in 1995 when a strong
sense of community was still rampant in the industry. Today she comes before
us to renew that environment and recapture the camaraderie of days gone
by. Currently, she is a Realtor® with Remax Golden Empire. Karen appreciates
the opportunity to get involved and make a difference within our organization
while continuing to support those that have been loyal to Bakersfield’s

means faith in Arabic, but we know her as Amy. Working as an executive secretary
for Kuwait National Petroleum Co. - training department for twelve years,
Amy was traveling between Kuwait and Bakersfield. After the invasion of
Kuwait in 1990 she moved to Bakersfield to start her new life. In1998 Amy
started a new career as a successful Teller at Glendale Federal Bank. She
met her husband Bob in 2003 and he encouraged her to study and become a
real estate agent. In 2005 she received the Rising Star award from The Bakersfield
Association of Realtors and ERA, also the Circle of Excellence from ERA
in 2004 and 2005. Amy continues her success, now with Bakersfield Premier Realty and has continued her education by completing her GRI designation this year. An advocate of education, Amy was Cathy Trevino’s Co-Chair for the Education and Programs committee this year. Amy is passionate about WCR , it is a great opportunity to speak to and meet influential people. area,graduated from USC with her masters in education, and worked as
a special education teacher for over 20 years in Los Angeles, Ventura
and Kern counties. A Kern County resident since 1991, where Cathy and
her husband Bob, finished raising two children. Cathy decided it was
time for a career change and three years ago turned her interest in
real estate into her new profession. She has been selling residential
properties with Coldwell Banker Preferred, Realtors where she was awarded
the International Diamond Society Award. Cathy is a past president of
the American Association of University Women Bakersfield Branch, Board
member of the Las Amigas Auxiliary of the Assistance League of Bakersfield,
Founding member of the International Women's Day Award Committee, League
of Women Voters, Women's Council of Realtors, co-chair for programs

Mary Christenson's passion
for WCR is evident in the time and energy she invests in building our
chapter, while still maintaining her status as one of our city's top-producing
realtors. Mary publishes our monthly program/newsletter, and attends
many WCR state/national meetings. In her 25+-year career as a Bakersfield
realtor, she has received many Top Producer Salesperson of the Year
awards, with annual sales volume exceeding $40 million per year. She's
placed #4 and #6 in ERA's leader's circle nationwide. Mary is a Certified
Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, and serves both buyers and sellers.
Her skills in desktop publishing and marketing were developed over a
10-year newspaper advertising career prior to real estate. She has extensive
construction project management and new home subdivision sales experience
with local/national home builders. Mary's personal interests are entertaining,
philanthropy projects, decorating (sewing with lavish fabrics/trims),
reading, traveling, She's heavily involved in Bakersfield's Association
of Petroleum Wives, Seven Oaks Country Club, and the Self Esteem Council
mentoring program for high school girls. She and husband Tom have four
adult children and six grandchildren. And she hosts a great WCR Martini

Accomplished is the word that
comes to mind as we look at the career of Leslie Walters in the Bakersfield
real estate market for the past 27 years. She has taken care of thousands
of customers along the way and has thus earned her accolades. She was
named Bakersfield’s “Salesperson of the Year” by her
peers in 1990 as well as “Realtor of the Year” in 2004. Few
people in Bakersfield have ever garnered both honors. She was a perennial
top performer during her long stints with Watson Realty and Coldwell
Banker. Currently as the owner of Walters & Associates, Leslie also
gives back to her industry and her community. She served as President
of the Bakersfield Association of Realtors in 1999 and serves now as
a statewide Director of the California association of Realtors. She
has been active in Junior League, chairing its popular Holidays of Magic
fundraiser, and she’s worked for several years chairing programs
for the Woman’s Business Conference.
